Why Use An Analogue Photographer For Your Wedding In Cornwall?

Picking the right photographer is one of the most important decisions you’ll make for your big day. So, why choose me for your celebration in Cornwall, and why have analogue pictures as part of your wedding?

I Work in a Range of Mediums

I am a
professional photographer based in Cornwall and Devon, who works at weddings throughout the local area, along with elsewhere in the UK.

I love working with couples who want the nostalgic charm of analogue film and even Super 8, along with modern digital photography. This enables me to capture a rich, layered narrative of your special day. With my skills and experience, you can make the most of the breathtaking beauty and romantic atmosphere of Cornwall.

The Art of Wedding Photography

Although digital photography now dominates modern weddings, we all want our pictures to be authentic and unique. Analogue and Super 8 films have made a real comeback in the past few years, becoming popular with couples who want something more distinctive.

My Recent Projects

I recently worked at Rebecca and Hayley’s wedding in Newcastle, which was photographed on digital and 35mm analogue film. I also made a stunning Super 8 film for them too.

This beautiful wedding took place at The Willows At The Woodman’s, where I worked in the background from 10 am to 10pm. Their vows were enchanting, full of laughter, the venue was stunning, and the couple were the loveliest people!

Here are some of the benefits of using these different styles of photograph for your wedding in Cornwall:

  • Digital Photography
offers unparalleled precision and clarity. It captures every detail with sharpness, whether it’s the delicate lace of a wedding dress or the splendour of a sunset over the ocean in Cornwall. Digital images are ideal for candid shots, group photos and low-light conditions, like evening receptions. They’re also easy to edit, allowing for quick corrections and enhancements.
  • Analogue Film for a unique, magical quality. With softer tones and natural imperfections, it can help a photographer create images that feel more emotive. The grainy texture and dreamy colours evoke nostalgia, making analogue film perfect for capturing intimate moments. Whether it’s a couples’ first kiss under Cornwall’s dramatic skies or a windswept portrait on the cliffs, analogue film lends an ethereal quality to your wedding album.
  • Super 8 Film is ideal for cinematic storytelling. It provides that vintage aesthetic and nostalgic vibe that reflects the nature of memory itself. This retro medium captures motion with a soft, flickering quality that feels like stepping back in time. With Super 8, I can immortalise your loved ones in a way that feels like an old family movie. The result? A keepsake that is also a work of art.

I can work seamlessly across digital, analogue and Super 8, so your wedding day is captured from multiple perspectives.

Cornwall: An Iconic Setting for Weddings

With its rugged coastline, sandy beaches, historic venues, and quaint villages, Cornwall is one of the most romantic locations for a wedding in the UK. Its natural beauty and relaxed vibe make it a favourite for couples seeking a wedding that feels both magical and meaningful.

Spectacular Coastal Settings

Since I’m based in the local area, I have an extensive knowledge of Cornwall and how great it is for weddings. Perhaps you’re getting married on one of Cornwall’s stunning beaches. Or you’re having a ceremony at one of its many charming hotels.

My wedding photography will capture the beauty of the surroundings as well as the joy of the occasion.

Charming Venues for Every Style

Whether you’re looking for a venue with rustic charm (like a historic barn) or a luxurious coastal resort, I love working at all kinds of weddings. That includes those which have plenty of outdoor shots, and those which take place at historic venues which need a touch of drama.

A Photographer’s Paradise

I find Cornwall’s unique light, which is shaped by its coastal geography, a real gift for my wedding photography. I’m highly experienced working in a range of conditions, from sunsets over the sea to natural lighting on clifftops and in the countryside. I can create images in a variety of styles for your perfect wedding album.

An Enchantingly Romantic Atmosphere

Cornwall is not only beautiful, it provides a more relaxed atmosphere than busy cities for weddings. Whether you’re planning a small, intimate gathering or a large celebration, I can work in the background to ensure that no special moment goes missed.

I look to capture your big day from beginning to end, without interrupting your celebrations. Why not
